For twelve years the College Lake or, ‘College Ressey’, as it is also known was inaccessible to the public. Neglected pathways meant that many parts of the walk around the lake had fallen away making large sections dangerous even to attempt to pass.
After many months of hard work from volunteers and project workers supported by, ‘South West Lakes’, the results of their commitment were realised when the lake re-opened in September 2012.
It is hard to believe the lakes close proximity to the busy Penryn by-pass as the peace and calm falls about the walker as they commence their exploration.
The lake is the natural habitat to a variety of birds and bats with bat box spotting being a great game for the very younger members of the walking party.
It is possible to follow on from College Lake via a link path on to Argal Reservoir.
